Goodbye Mate



It's finally time to go home. It will probably be quite a while before I will return to this place again, I guess.

The 2 years spent in Australia are probably one of the best times of my life. I’m going to miss the big wide space where I can walk freely and slowly, without bumping into someone or cutting my way through someone else’s. Not forgetting the freedom and no worries attitude and friendly strangers who talk to me at the supermarket, referring to the food on display, ‘Don’t they look delicious?’ Oh yes, oh yes, I’m going to miss the fine weather here, especially winter… I will also miss the days rushing to Coles or Woolies at the eleventh hour to buy some food to prepare for dinner or to Videoezy to rent some movies to watch through the night.

As the plane took off, a little girl shouted, ‘Goodbye Sydney!’

Yup, time for me to say goodbye to you, Sydney…goodbye mate!
