Boxing Day

Boxing day. Guess what that means? Guess. Guess. It's not another day at work or simply a day after Christmas. Not over here. It means SALES!!!

A friend smsed me at 8am to say, ‘Hope you are shopping now… I sure am.'

Great… I just woke up and it's 12 noon. It must be the wine. Too much of them last night. Sigh... how early am I? I'm a late, late, late birdie.

Anyway, I finally made my way to the city and oh boy... there are so many people! Usually there ain’t as many people as today. Trading hours are extended to 11pm with David Jones and Myers opening their doors at 7am! Most stores have a sales rep to guard the door and some even have a queue forming outside the store to control the number of people in the store. What is happening? But I guess it's almost like any ordinary day along Orchard Road in Singapore, huh?

Well, overall I should say the sales aren’t that fantastic but it was fun to experience what it was like to shop on Boxing day in Australia.
