Pride & Prejudice

Watched Pride and Prejudice. Nice... Ha finally the movie curse has been broken! Have been catching a series of lousy movies which totally don't deserve my attention. It takes a good old classic to restore my faith in movies again.

I had a few thoughts after watching the movie:

1) Throughout all ages, women are looking for good men to marry; man with wealth, good looks, character and love. Is that demanding? It all boils down to Cinderella Syndrome; to marry a prince, fall madly in love with him and live happily ever after.

2) What Charlotte Lucas said, drew the same response from me as Elizabeth Bennet. She doesn't have any wealth, things to do (career), living off her parents and passing marriageable age. She does not know what will happen and felt very insecure of her future. It does not matter that she doesn't love William Collins or that he is erh... not a very fantastic guy. All it matters is that her future is secure if she marries him. It is really her choice. There are girls who are like her even in this present time. They just want a secure future.

3) Jane Bennet and Mr Bingley.
Why play mind games? When wrongly read, a potential wonderful relationship may be missed.

4) Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy.
If he's meant for you, he's meant for you. Somehow, both of you will end up together.
