Boy

He stood at a distance and took a seat near the exit of the bus.

I sat one seat away from him. Will notice me? He caught my eye the moment I saw him and my eyes never left him.

He has a happy disposition about him, ready to spread the joy and cheer around him. Is it because of the yellow t-shirt he was wearing which brightens up the quiet and beautiful morning? I was just drawn to him.

Suddenly, he turned around, gazed into my eyes to catch my attention and smiled! Gasp! Was that for me? Yes! I'm sure of that! He is smiling at me! There's no doubts about it!

Uncontrollably, I smiled back, almost from ear to ear. What's with me? I don't usually smile back to strangers?! But he is simply irresistible. I can't hold back. His smile was innocent and sincere, beckoning me to return the attention he gave.

Coincidently, both of us alighted at the same stop. We got ready to alight.

He didn't forget to say bye to me with the same smile. We didn't get to talk.

I crossed the road to get to work while he sat comfortably in his pram.

The world is still a beautiful place with happy things to smile about. It's been a long time since I smile in this way. Hey, boy, thanks for reminding me that there are things in the world to cheer about.

Kids are so adorable. I love them!
